Circlips

Circlips, a metal ring with open ends, are flat pieces of Circular (ring) Spring steel used to retain components on shafts or in housings. The circlips have a larger free diameter and gap width. This helps the circlips fits more tightly into the groove and provide higher and more uniform thrust load capacity. Lugs with holes are provided for rapid fitting or remove with circlips pliers. Circlips are made in Spring Steel and Stainless Steel.

Circlips are classified mainly in two types:
    (1) Internal Circlips, which are used to hold a seal or bearing in its bore. Internal circlips are made as per DIN 472 / IS 3075.
    (2) External Circlips, which are used to locate components in shafts. External circlips are made as per DIN 471 / IS 3075.
